Beethoven: the journey

When 14 years old Beethoven first borrowed a pair of in-line skates from a friend, he was far from imagining that he would have won around 30 titles skating with them. Everything began in his hometown Anapolis, located in the Brazilian State of Goias. Beethoven was the first professional Aggressive Inline from Goias to represent Brazil internationally. In the same year, the athlete was living on the other side of the world and had already taken a step further in his career, taking part in “Voyage de la Vie”, the first spectacular theatrical circus show in Singapore, where he worked as a skateboarder, acrobat and actor.

From being a headliner of international in-line skating competitions to a complete acrobatic performer, the journey Beethoven undertook has included trips around the world. He modelled for clients like Coca-Cola, living in England for one year where he was invited to join the Razors Team of Roller Blading and won the vice-championship in the Summer World Games of 2002 (an event covered by the Brazilian television Rede Globo).

After having participated in major events around the world among which the renowned Voyage de la Vie in Singapore, Beethoven Pitanga eventually met his current wife, Gaia Forlino, and after finishing his contract in Voyage de la Vie, he began to work as Chef in a famous Italian restaurant, called “No Menu”

Today Beethoven lives in Singapore where he works as an actor, Chef and personal trainer of skaters. A devoted Beethoven obtained a successful career, he served as an example, inspiring his daughter and motivating hundreds of athletes to pursue their goals.

Beethoven: the titles

In 1996 Beethoven took first place in Goiano Street Championship in the Vertical Roller Show. He won also second place in the Half Pipe Coll Roller Vertical and the Street Roller Show. The following year he made it to Brasilia as a champion of the first Open Radical Sports Game, as well as champion of the Goianian Championship Street EPJC, the Brazilian CBHP Nescau Vertical Advanced, the CBHP Nescau Vertical Expert and the CBHP Street and the pre Nescau Vertical for the state of Goias. In the same year he was the vice-champion of the Goianian Vertical. He also was vice-champion of the Brazilian Vertical and the Goianian Vertical. In 2002 the athlete was the champion of the Best Trick and vice-champion of the Summer World Games. In 2004 he won the title for the Best Progressive Skater of Goiania and in the following year he made it to São Paulo as winner of the Best Trick in the USD tour. In 2008 he was the first one to try the half pipe of Brokenbones in Mallorca, Spain and won the best trick on the Chubasquero Skate Park, Spain. In 2009 he won the Best Trick and the Mini Hemp Circuit at the Granollers Canoveia, Spain.

He also partecipated to competitions such as X Games Latino (Rio de Janeiro, 2003,2004); Jogos Mundiais de Verão (São Paulo, 2003,2004); Oi Vert Jam (Rio Janeiro, 2005, 2006); Pro Rad (São Paulo, 2006); WinterClash (Frankfurt, 2008); Barcelona Extreme (Barcelona, 2008, 2009); Hurricans Event (Monpellier, France, 2009) Summer Clash (Berlin, 2008, 2013).
